Atlanta History Center Field Trip

On May 3, 2013 I chaperoned Elijah's First Grade Class' field trip to The Atlanta History Center.  They visited a farm that took them back into the 1800's to show them what farm life was like around two hundred years ago.

First, the kids listened to a farmhand discuss his life and work on the farm in the 1800's.

Then all the kids got to try their hand at hoisting a hay bale.

Next, they sat in a kitchen and listened to the cook discuss her life and work.

 Next, Eli tried his hand at an old-fashioned hand grinder.

Finally, Eli's favorite part of the day was helping to make his class' dip candle.
