Elijah's Star Student Week, Part I -- Monday, March 4th

One of the best things about First Grade for Elijah was Star Student Week.  Each student gets one week where they get to share their favorite things with the class, lead activities, be the special helper and have a book written about them.  Needless to say, the kids LOVE it!  The first grade teachers also encourage families and friends to join the Star Students for lunch as much as possible that week.  I sent an email invitation out to the local family and we had a great turnout.  Elijah was joined by some family member or members each day of the week.  What a wonderful treat.  :)

On Monday, Babo, Keira and I surprised Elijah and joined him for lunch.  Having Babo come to lunch was a special treat, since he'd never been to Elijah's school before.  Eli got a kick out of showing him all around.

Keira had an exciting day as well.  March 4th was the first day she started drawing full figures without prompting.  At first when she drew people they just had a head and legs, then they got arms, too.  Finally, on March 4th, her people got tummies.  So fun to watch her draw.
