On October 1, 2014 we attended Master Kim's farewell party. The dojang (school in Korean) was filled wall to wall with crying families, and we were no exception. Master Kim means the world to our family, Elijah in particular. When I told Elijah that Master Kim would be leaving, he was inconsolable. He even said that he didn't want to continue doing Tae Kwon Do. Fortunately, he has revised that statement since, and has continued Tae Kwon Do. But, when Master Kim was leaving, Elijah was devastated -- we all were. Master Kim is the perfect mix of patient, kind and gentle, yet very structured. He has high expectations, yet delivers those expectations in a soft, respectful way. He is magic. We were all incredibly sad to see him go.
