The Zoo

On September 7, 2014, all four of us enjoyed a hot but fun day at the zoo.  The impetus for our trip was an animal project for Elijah.  The project had us visiting and photographing lots of animals and their signs to learn about their scientific names.  The best, most clear photo that I took of an animal was the giant tortoise.

After seeing a few animals, the kids decided to pose as animals, too.

Besides seeing and photographing several animals, we all enjoyed lots of time at the various attractions geared towards kids.  The carousel and train are always big hits.  But, the most exciting attraction was the new water play area. The kids loved it and spent plenty of blissful time getting completely soaked.

On our way out, both kids wanted a chance to pose with the giant broccoli -- it's not every day you get the chance to do that.
