USS Yorktown Trip

Over Labor Day Weekend, Scott and Elijah drove to Charleston to spend the night on the USS Yorktown with the Cub Scouts.  They don't allow young children to stay over night on the ship and women sleep in separate quarters from the men and boys so Keira and I decided to stay home, rather then rent a hotel room. Scottie and Elijah had a great weekend and took plenty of pictures so that they could share their adventures with us when they got home.

The first day, the Cub Scouts toured some of the ship including: the flight deck, the bridge and the Maritime Museum.

The next mornin,g the boys spent more time touring the ship including posing as pilots on the hangar deck and climbing all over the anti-aircraft gun on the flight deck.

Then, the group headed to Fort Sumter.

After a long day, Elijah spent some down time back on the ship reading Harry Potter.
